A summer fashion wishlist

Summer is such a difficult season to dress for, isn't it?

London gets unbearably hot and sticky in the summer, so my aim is always to dress as comfortably as possible. My summer wishlist contains statement jewellery and shoes, and lightweight, comfortable clothes that all have a bit of stretch in them - there's nothing worse than tight, unforgiving and unyielding fabric in the heat. Oh, and a very nice bikini. I hope I'm not tempting fate by including warm-weather clothes here. If we have a rainy summer my next wishlist will be full of wellies and umbrellas.

Clockwise left to right:

Lille bikini, Bravissimo

For me Bravissimo is the holy grail of underwear shops. They make gorgeous, supportive, flattering underwear and swimwear and fit you into every item individually so that you get the perfect fit for your body. I love the Lille bikini, it's such a classic retro style. The padded, underwired top provides plently of support and a lovely shape. The thick comfortable halter straps and the frill on the bottoms are lovely flattering details. There's a padded underwired tankini and some shorts in the same print too. Now I just need a beach and some sun!

Bikini top £34, tankini top £42, bottoms £22, all from Bravissimo. Available in UK cup sizes 28DD - 38J

Paper Petals T-shirt, Ted Baker

I have always adored Ted Baker's prints. Their T-shirts are soft, lightweight, and beautifully cut. The floral print and hints of yellow in the Paper Petals T-shirt is a nod to the warmer seasons while the classic black and white will ensure this wears well into the colder months.

£45, Ted Baker, sizes 0 - 5 (UK 6 - 16)

 Multi Textured Loop earrings, Mirabelle

Statement without being too spangly, these gold-plated hoops will go with anything.

£60, Mirabelle jewellery

'Laura Likes Raving' necklace, Accessorize

Blue, green, orange and gold shades are combined in this chunky collar-style necklace perfect for summer-ing up a simple outfit.

£19, Accessorize

Adele dress, Nancy Dee

Nancy Dee dresses are amazing. They're made in the UK from eco-conscious bamboo jersey, and they're the most comfortable dresses I've ever worn. The material is lightweight and feels cool against the skin, even in hot weather. I love the kimono styling of the Adele dress and I adore its sleeves - more summer dresses need sleeves! The sizes are very generous so I recommend sizing down two sizes.

£99, Nancy Dee, UK sizes 8 - 16

Clearwater Satin Cloudscape shoes, TOMS

I love the geometric pink and blue print on these. A must for anyone who'd rather keep their toes under wraps.

£39.99, UK sizes 3 - 12 including half sizes up to size 10

Tasha jersey trousers, People Tree

People Tree's organic cotton jersey trousers are a way to stay cool while wearing black. Their tapered cut and drawstring waist give a comfortable, flattering fit.

£48, People Tree, UK sizes 8 - 16

Zena Mae silver sandals, Clarks

I can't get enough of these shiny, chunky sandals. They're part hippy, part disco. This is how to do summer footwear without compromising either style or comfort.

£60, Clarks, UK sizes 3 - 8 including half sizes

Annie cardigan, Fat Face

Comfortable and versatile with a beautiful crochet pattern across the back and shoulders. White looks and feels cool and comfortable, and can be worn into autumn teamed with patterned dresses, tights and boots. I have this in a longer, open-front style and it's become one of my very favourite items.

£38, Fat Face, UK sizes 6 - 18
